The Freshman Shamrocks' season came to an end Saturday morning in the semifinals of the HCC Tournament at Avon as they fell to Brownsburg 48-44 in overtime. The Shamrocks, who love to get out to hot starts, were unable to do so on Saturday as the game got to 19-2 before a Greyson Hampton 3 finally started the scoring for the Shamrocks. Some free throws by Isaac Jones and Braelyn Rush were able to cut the deficit to 11 at the end of the first half. A ferocious comeback by the boys in the second half got the game into overtime, but Brownsburg was able to knock down a few shots in overtime, and the Rocks were not able to match. It was a hard-fought game, but unfortunately, the HCC regular season champs came up short against the eventual HCC tournament champs. Leading scorers for the Shamrocks were Braelyn Rush (15), Isaac Jones (13), Dante Jones (7), and Adrean Scott (6). The Freshman Shamrocks finish their campaign with an overall record of 19-3. Even though today may not feel like it... It's a great day to be a Shamrock!
