The Freshman Shamrocks played in their County Tournament Saturday. In the semifinal match against Hamilton Southeastern, the Rocks were as hot as could be as they buried 10 three pointers en route to a 59-32 victory. Propelled by a great crowd from the JV and Varsity squads, the boys were flying around on defense as well. The boys were led by Aiden Hairston with 10 points, Isaac Jones with 8, and two big three balls by JC Hart IV and Sam Leach. The Championship Game was against Carmel as the boys got up to a 19-5 lead early in the second quarter. Carmel hit some big shots in the second half and came back to beat the Rocks 35-37. Highlights for the Rocks were Braelyn Rush with 2 threes and Dante Jones with 7 points. In the end, Aiden Hairston had a good look at a game winner, but it just fell off the back iron. The Shamrocks have one more regular season game as they take on Brownsburg Wednesday night, and then it is on to the HCC Conference tournament to wrap up the season. Disappointing finish to the game, but as always... It's still a great day to be a Shamrock!
