Over the Labor Day weekend, the Shamrocks competed at the Terre Haute State Preview meet on the famed LaVern Gibson Championship cross country course getting a chance to preview the State Meet course for the first time this season. The varsity placed 2nd to a strong Valparaiso team while placing 3 runners in the top 10. Liz Smith (3rd), Liv Lozier (5th) and Maggie Naas (10th) all placed in the top 10 helping Westfield secure runner-up team honors. Other scorers for the Rocks included Emily Loiselle and Ella Bozarth, with additional outstanding performances by Jordyn Landrum and Izzy McCulloch. The Shamrock JV squad pulled through with another dominating performance winning the meet with only 17 points (2 shy of a perfect 15). Senior Galiena Colon led the charge for Westfield by winning the individual title. She was closely followed by teammates Maryn Babb (2nd), Maddie Samreta (3rd), Claudia Southworth (4th), Ava Britton-Heitz (7th) and Delaney Curtis (9th) as other Westfield athletes placing in the top 10 to help secure the team victory! The Shamrocks will be heading to Marion, Indiana on September 9th to compete next at the IWU Wildcat Classic. Go Rocks!
