Varsity Girls Cross Country Place 4th, JV 6th at Hamilton County Championship

The Shamrocks continued the early part of the season on Saturday, competing at the Hamilton County Championships in Noblesville. The varsity placed 4th with 84 points in a very competitive field. Senior Liz Smith was Westfield's top individual placing 2nd in a lifetime best of 18:33 for the 5k distance. Two other Shamrocks made the All-County team placing in the top 20. Freshmen Liv Lozier placed 3rd in 18:49 and sophomore Gianna Ferreri placed 20th to nab the last All-County spot. Other scorers for the Rocks included Emily Loiselle and Ella Bozarth. In the JV race, the Shamrocks placed 6th as a team and senior Izzy Rudin had the best individual finish among Westfield athletes placing 26th overall. Other scoring runners for the JV team included Galiena Colon, Maryn Babb, Maddie Samreta, and Claudia Southworth. The Rocks will be back in action on Saturday September 2nd at the State Preview Meet in Terre Haute on the famed LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course!
