The Westfield Girls Cross Country team opened their season in winning fashion at the Plainfield Relays on Saturday. The Varsity team won the Hokum Karem relay style race with 25 team points. The top Shamrock duo of senior Liz Smith and freshmen Liv Lozier placed 2nd overall in a time of 34:24. In the JV race, Westfield dominated the competition as the Rocks put 9 runners in the top 15 of the field and put together a great team performance. Westfield was led by the duo of sophomore Olivia Barnett and freshmen Lyla Osborn posting 2nd and 3rd place finishes respectively. The Westfield Girls Cross country team will be competing next at the Hamilton County Championships in Noblesville on Saturday, August 26th. Go Rocks!
