The Varsity boys finished runner-up as a team in the Plainfield Relays, led by the 9th place finishing duo of Landon Jones and Jack Loiselle. Other scoring relays were the duo of Owen Mohler and Will Snedeker (12th place), and the team of Ian Porter and Caleb Haney (14th place). Other relays included Caub Douthit and Owen Ferreri, and Ty Conner with Owen Dilley. The boys showed a level of strength and consistency over their three one mile relay splits with a team average of 5:16 per mile and great performances turned in by all competitors. The JV boys swept the top 8 places and earned an impressive victory, achieving a perfect team score. The Shamrocks were led by individual winner Calvin Vance, who just outleaned Tristan Hostetter to earn the win. The two seniors, who are each in their first ever cross-country season, took over late and showed incredible levels of competitiveness and desire in the homestretch. The tone was set early by freshman Carson Ackley, who immediately took control of the race and led for almost the entire time until being overtaken near the end by three of his teammates, which resulted in him earning him a 4th place finish. Luke Moulder (3rd), Bryce Pittman (5th), JP Mikels (6th), Nathan McKeever (7th), and Drew Neely (8th) helped also helped finish the sweep. The Shamrocks are back in action at the Hamilton County Championships at White River Elementary in Noblesville on Saturday, August 26th.
