Coach Bunnell enters his 16th season at the helm of the Shamrocks baseball program where he has a 233-197 record. Under Coach Bunnell’s guidance, the Shamrocks have tied or set twenty eight school records, had four All State selections and fourteen Honorable Mention All State selections, five Academic All-State selections, produced the only six Indiana All Stars in school history, the school’s first IHSBCA Player of the Year and the schools only two MLB draft picks, including current New York Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki.  The Rocks have won four Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championships (’09, ’10, ’13, ’15), three Sectional Championships (’08, ’09, ’11), one Regional Championship (’09) and a Semi-State Championship (’09) with Bunnell leading the baseball  program.  In 2008, the Rocks made the “Sweet Sixteen” round of the IHSAA State Tournament and in 2011 they finished with an “Elite Eight” appearance.   2009, the Rocks finished as State Runner-Up after an extra-innings loss to FW Snider in the State Championship game.   Coach Bunnell has been named the Indy Star North Coach of the Year twice (’09 & ’10), Indy Star Super Team Co-Coach of the Year once (’09), the HCC Coach of the year four times (’07, ’09, ’13 and ’15) and District K Coach of the year twice (’09 and ’13) while at Westfield. In 2009, he finished Runner-Up in the Indiana Coach of the Year balloting.  In his fifteen years at WHS, he has helped guide thirty six players into college baseball, including fourteen at the Division I level.  During the summer, Coach Bunnell has coached in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and currently coaches the Indiana Bulls 16U Grey team.  He is married to his beautiful wife, Michelle, and has four wonderful children, Kaylie, A.J., Cooper and Beau.
