The JV Lady Rocks got off to a slow start Saturday going scoreless until the 2 min mark of the 1st period when Freshman guard Vivien Rector knocked down a three. The offense got going in the 2nd where the Rocks outscored the Flashes 13-5 to go into the half up 16-8. Junior Alli McEvoy and Sophomore Madi Kerrigan each had 4 points in the second period for the Rocks. The Flashes came out of the half and knocked down two big threes to get back in the game. The Rocks didn’t let up and Freshman Molly O’Brien and McEvoy each knocked down a three of their own, and Junior Jadeyn Hammes had 7 of her game high 10 points to keep the lead going into the final period. Franklin Central picked up the pressure in the final period which led to some turnovers by the Rocks. Once they got settled Freshman Emmrey Collinsworth scored the Rocks final 6 points in the period to help seal the 35-20 victory. The Rocks are back in action Tuesday as they travel to Mt. Vernon.
