The JV Lady Rocks got off to a slow start Tuesday night against the Orioles of Avon. Sophomore Vivien Rector knocked down a three late in the quarter and the score was 7-7 after one. The defense picked up in the second and the Rocks shots started to fall. Freshman Reese Hoover and Rector had 10 of the Rocks 18 second quarter points and they went into the half up 25-13. Avon tried to make a late run, picking up the pressure but the Rocks knocked down key free throws down the stretch to seal the 39-29 victory. Rector went 5-6 from the line in the fourth to finish with a season high 16 points. Sophomore Molly O’Brien had 6 and Hoover chipped in 5. The Rocks are back in action when they travel to Hamilton Southeastern Thursday for a JV only contest at 6:00.
