The Westfield Junior Varsity football team returned home for a match-up with the Millers of Noblesville. In a game that the Rocks controlled for the majority, The JV Rocks won, 28-14!

The defense was led by player of the game, defensive lineman, Brent Stone. Stone was in the backfield all game and helped the Rocks control the line of scrimmage and stop the Millers rushing attack! Evan Cannon led the entire Rocks defense with his consistent play by making tackle after tackle. The play of the day came after a sudden change and a miscue on special teams. After being rushed back on the field for a 4th and 3, the Rocks D stepped up to the challenge and stuffed the run, once again, to eliminate any chance of momentum for the Millers.

The Rocks offense was led by Luke Lewis who did everything he was called upon to do…including key blocks and key receptions throughout the game. The offensive line was key to the victory as their consistency and leadership proved to be too much for Noblesville. The offensive line was led by Alex Ashley, Tommy Taggert, and Michael Clifford. Cole Ballard to Steven Wilkos proves to be the play of the game for the Rocks offense!

The Special Teams were led by the outstanding play of Evan Cannon! Frankie Ipsen was once again the picture of consistency as she converted all her extra point attempts.! Collin Lindsey continued his excellent play on special teams, Collin’s punting was exceptional and the play of the game on special teams came as he pinned the Millers at the half yard line!

The JV Rocks football team will be in action again next Saturday, September 19th at Hamilton Southeastern! Game time 10:00 am!!
