A young Westfield Lady Rocks track and field team proved its mettle this Saturday at the HCC Indoor Track Championships held on the campus of Wabash College. In the 3200 M run, freshman Ava Zellers produced a commanding performance, placing tenth overall in the multiple heats of the race. Ava Henson continued her strong start to the season placing 3rd in the 60 M Hurdles with a time of 9.62. The 4×200 team combined to achieve a tenth place finish, and the 4×400 team placed 7th. The top relay for the day was the 4 x 800, who placed 3rd after running a time of 10:02.66. The Distance Medley Relay placed fourth, having run a time of 13:01.77. In the high jump, freshman Hailey Boehm leaped her way to a 7th place finish, clearing a height of 4′ 8″. The Rocks will continue their quest to qualify as many athletes as possible for the HSR State finals as they travel to DePauw University this Friday, March 16th.
