The Westfield Ladies Track and Field Squad had an outstanding day of performances in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship meet. In the field events, freshman Sydney Black continued to raise her profile, leaping her way to a third place in the long jump with a distance of 16′ 5.25″. First year thrower Zoe Pentecost scored a point for the Rocks with a nearly 20 foot new personal best throw in the discus, tossing the disc out for a distance of 104′ 7″. Pentecost also had a one foot PR in the shot put. On the distance side, senior captain Gabrielle Dilick ran the 3200 in a time of 11:02. 38 to take home 2nd place. Her senior counterpart, Sydney Spears, ran the 200 in a time of 26.15 to take fourth place. The girls 4 x 100 M relay consisting of Kierstyn Ballard, Erianna Ballard (no relation), Hannah Fife, and Alison Bullock placed 6th; the 4 x 800 team placed seventh; and 4 x 400 finished in fourth place. The Rocks are ready to get back at it with their showing in the state tournament sectional meet next Tuesday, May 15th.
