The Westfield Ladies Track Team saw an explosion of growth and new personal bests in the first meet of the 2018 postseason. Taking on the top schools of Hamilton County, the Rocks did not disappoint. In the realm of distance, senior Gabrielle Dilick continued her great senior season with a second place finish in the 1600 M run, finishing in 5:09.07. Sydney Spears also had a big night, placing 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 17′ 5.5″; Spears also finished 3rd in the 400 M Dash, running a time of 59.35. In the 3200 M Run, Carley Bogadewicz broke her personal best record by 20 seconds with a time of 11:41.03. Freshman Sydney Spears also set a new PR in the long jump, as she leaped for a distance of 16′ 8″ and a 5th place finish. In the discus, Erin Waite pushed herself to a new high with a toss of 96′ 7″. Her counterpart in the shot put, Zoe Pentecost, threw a new PR throw of 30′ 6″. In the 100 M Dash, sophomore Ava Henson ran to a 4th place finish, posting a time of 16.69. Freshman Hailey Boehm earned fourth place in the 300 M Hurdles, running a time of 50.57. The Rocks will head to Zionsville on Tuesday, May 8th, to take part in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championship.
