The Westfield Girls Varsity Track Squad traveled State Road 32 to take part in the annual Noblesville Invite. The Rocks took advantage of the beautiful Indiana spring night and competed well against some of the top teams in the state, earning a fourth place finish. In the long jump, sophomores Madeline Ferreri and Sydney Black placed in 6th and 7th place respectively. Senior Lauren Ulsas earned a share of ninth place for her pole vault of 7 feet. In the throws, sophomore Alison McEvoy had a breakout performance. McEvoy scored an 8th place finish in the discus with a new personal best throw of 103′ 9″. In the discus, McEvoy threw for a new personal best with a distance of 31′ 0.25″. McEvoy’s counterpart in the throws, Zoe Pentecost, also came up big, throwing the discus for 109′ 5″ and a 5th place finish.
In the sprints, junior Alison Bullock placed 7th in the 100 M Dash, running a 13.90. She also placed 8th in the 200. Teammate Hannah Fife ran a 26.85 in the 200 on her way to a 4th place finish. Fife doubled up with the 400 and placed fifth with a 1:01.05 finish. Sophomore Hailey Boehm placed 6th in the 300 M Hurdles as she dashed her way to a 50.10 finish.
In the 1600 M run, senior Christy Ann Delahunty earned a 4th place finish with a 5:29.69 time. Teammate Sarah Coates finished in 6th place at 5:43.86. Sophomore Julia Clark ran a 12:25.30 in the 3200, which earned her 4th in the race.
The 4 x 100 team placed 4th along with the 4 x 400 team. The 4 x 800 team finished in 3rd place.
Westfield’s junior varsity girls will compete tonight (4/18) at Noblesville High School.
