On Thursday, April 20th, the JV Lady Rocks of Westfield hosted the WHS JV Invite featuring conference rivals Noblesville and Hamilton Southeastern. In the field events, freshman Sydney Black stood out scoring two first place finishes in the jumps, both long and high. Black leaped for a height of 4’ 2” in the high jump while going 16’ 2.5” in the long jump gaining a new personal record. Lauren Harvey also achieved a 4’ 2” height in the high jump. In the discus throw, sophomores Julia Rohlfing and Madison Dowden achieved new personal bests with throws in the 60’ range. Freshman Alison McEvoy earned a 5th place finish with her effort in the shot put. In the realm of distance, freshman Ashley Baldwin won the 1600 M race in a time of 5:51.89. Teammates Brown and McNeely earned two & three respectively in the 3200 M run. On the sprints side of the track, freshman Hailey Boehm put in two victorious performances in both the 100 M Hurdles and the 300 M Hurdles. Sophomore Noelle Naughton also ran her way to a 4th place finish in the 400 M Dash. The Rocks will return to competition this next Tuesday, April 24th, at home against the Fishers Tigers. The meet will serve as senior night as well.
