The Westfield Lady Rocks Golf Team capped off their season on Saturday competing in the two day State Championship at Prairie View Golf Club. The Lady Rocks finished the State Championship with a fourth place finish and a trip to the podium for the fourth time in the last five years.
The Lady Rocks teed off on Friday at 8:48 on hole number 10 and would have a solid first nine. The team would post the second lowest score of the day on the back nine at Prairie View with a 158. However the second nine wasn’t as good to the Rocks. The team finished day one with a 325 and found themselves in 5th place behind Homestead, Evansville North, Carmel and Zionsville.
Individual scoring on day one for the team was Sophie McGinnis with a 77, Jocelyn Bruch 79, Allie Hildebrand 80, Natalie Shupe 89 and Brette Hanavan 91.
On day two the Lady Rocks teed off beginning at 9:42 on hole number one. The second day was more indicative of what the team has shot all year and they put together two consistent nine holes of golf, shooting a 159 on the front and following it up with a 157 on the back for a 318.
When all the scores were final the Lady Rocks would see themselves jump one spot to fourth place behind State Champions Homestead, Runner Up Evansville North and third place Zionsville.
Jocelyn Bruch led the charge on day two with a one under par 71. Sophie McGinnis finished with a 79, Allie Hildebrand and Natalie Shupe both carded an 84 and Brette Hanavan finished with a 91.
