The WHS wrestlers had another great weekend finishing 2nd at the always tough HCC tournament. The Rocks placed 13/14 weight classes with 4 finalist and 2 champs. Seniors Dylan Driver (113) and Dakota Arvin (220) had great tournaments, both with runner-up finishes.

Junior Braxton Vest (120) had an absolutely dominate performance on the way to his first conference title. Braxton won his quarterfinal and Semifinal match by pin, each coming in the 1st period. In a hard fought finals match, Vest came out on top with a decision victory over #10 Braden Haines of Brownsburg.

Senior Seth Martin had an incredibly exciting performance on his path to capturing the HCC title at 182lbs. Seth kept getting better and better throughout the day. In the semifinals Martin knocked off the top seed in the tournament with a pin in the 3rd period. In his finals match the gym erupted when Martin picked up a 2nd period pin over Zionsville’s Vincent McDonald.

The Rocks will be back on the mat Jan. 30 for Sectionals at Frankfort High School
