The Westfield Boys track team finished 6th at the HCC Track CHampionships last Thursday. The team produced two conference champions. Peyton Haack won the pole vault with a vault of 15 feet, and the 4×800 relay of Nick Leahy, David Mannella, Jacob Mears, and Charles Miller opened the meet with a win, dropping 7 seconds off their season best time.

Other outstanding performances included Miller’s 3rd in the 400, and Calvin Grenda’s 3rd in the 300 hurdles, Noah Douthit’s 4th in the 1600, Leahy’s 5th in the 800, Cooper Boehm’s 5th in the 110 hurdles, Andrew Pazdernik’s 5th in the shot put, and a 4th in the 4×400 relay by Miller, Leahy, Grenda, and Mannella.

Also scoring for the Shamrocks were Haack in the 110 hurdles, Colin Caldwell in the shot, Kaleb Pettijohn in the long jump, the 4×100 of Owen McGraw, Boehm, Dorian Henson, and Alex Kukura, who also scored in the 200.

The boys are back in action Thursday, May 17 at the IHSAA Carmel Sectional.
