The boys track team finished third in the Zionsville Invitational Friday night. Two school and meet records and many PRs were collected along the way. Events winners included Peyton Haack in the 110 hurdles, Dainon Wray in the 300 hurdles–both breaking school and meet records–and the 4×800 relay of Charles Miller, David Mannella, Jacob Mears, and Nick Leahy.
Other scorers included the 4×100 relay of Haack, Cooper Boehm, Alex Kukura, and Mason Piening, and the 4×400, thrown together during the meet due to injury, of Calvin Grenda, Mahamet Djour, Wray and Leahy. Grenda scored with a big PR in the 300 hurdles. Haack finished 2nd in the pole vault tying the meet record. Also scoring were Boehm in the 110 hurdles, Colin Caldwell and Andrew Pazdernik in the shot put, Sam Novak with a PR in the 1600, Leahy in the 3200, and Mannella in the 400.
The Shamrocks are back in action Monday, when the JV athletes compete in an unscored meet at Carmel to finish their seasons, and next Friday in the Hamilton County Championships.
