The Varsity Boys team took care of business on teacher appreciation night dominating the first half and getting out to an early 3-0 lead. Getting things started was Junior David Green with a pair of goals, first off a well played ball over the top from Junior Ellis Douthit, and next after Sophomore Declan Wheeler beat a defender and was able to find Green to put the ball in the back of the net. The third goal of the half came after the defense pressed high up the field to win a ball with Junior Ben Wallace finding Senior Captain Miguel Ayala finding space to burst through and beat the keeper with a screamer into the upper net. The second half proved to be a little different, but with mostly smooth sailing. Senior goalie Aiden Huddleston had a great match only giving up one goal after a misplay by the defense late in the match leading to a breakaway. Putting the game out of reach was Wallace after some nice combination play with Wheeler ultimately leading to Wallace winning a penalty kick that he took himself and buried into the back of the net. Only two matches left before sectionals with a game at Plainfield on Saturday and then back at home for Senior night against Avon. Go Rocks!
