Westfield hosted a new conference foe, Franklin Central Flashes, on Wednesday March 27 at Grand Park. The Flashes struck first with one run in the top of the first, but the Rocks answered back with three runs in the bottom of the first. The game remained 3 to 1 until the fifth when the Rocks exploded for nine runs to blow the game wide open. Parker Bard had his first career varsity start and it was a gem. He scattered four hits over his five innings of work and struck out six to earn his first career win for the Rocks. Offensively, Trey Anderson was 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI. Bryce Dorton was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI. Tyler Smitherman was 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBI and Kyle Pepiot was also 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI.
