Rocks News · 5 Shamrocks Sign Letter of Intent


Margaret Wentz has signed her letter of intent to play Golf at Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, TN.  Margaret is a 4 year varsity letter winner on the golf team.  She helped lead the Rocks to 4 IHSAA State Finals appearances with 3 IHSAA State Runner-up finishes.  Individually, she placed in the top 25 at the state finals her sophomore and junior year.  Margaret is a member of the National Honor Society at WHS and was Honorable Mention Academic All-State in Girls Golf her senior year.  In college, Margaret plans to study Design and Business.  Congratulations Margaret!  Pictured above sitting alongside Margaret are her parents, Roger and Dorothy Wentz.  Standing is Trevor Neu-Varsity Head Girls Golf Coach and Josh Bryant-Varsity Assistant Girls Golf Coach.

Gabrielle Dilick has signed her letter of intent to run Track and Cross Country at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.  Gabrielle is a 4 year varsity letter winner in both Track and Cross Country at WHS and earned Mental Attitude Awards for both sports.  She was named Honorable Mention All HCC as well in both sports.  In Track, she has been a team captain her Junior and Senior years.  At Ohio State, Gabrielle plans to major in Nursing.  Pictured above sitting alongside Gabrielle are her parents, Michael and Julie Dilick.  Standing is Luke Dilick-Brother, Josh Wachtel-Assistant Cross Country and Track Coach, Roger Wachtel-Varsity Head Track Coach, and Shane Moore-Varsity Head Cross Country Coach.

Michael Koza has signed his letter of intent to play Basketball at Manchester University in North Manchester, IN.  Michael is a 2 year varsity letter winner at WHS and played basketball all 4 years.  He will graduate with an Academic Honors Diploma at WHS.  At Manchester, Michael will major in Business Sports Marketing.  Pictured above sitting alongside Michael are his parents, Susan and Kelly Koza.  Standing is Tavio Henson – Strength Coach, Shane Sumpter-Varsity Head Basketball Coach, Ken Hampton-Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach, Austin Brengle-Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach, and Fonzo White-Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach.

Dory Thompson has signed her letter of intent to play Softball at Trine University in Angola, IN.  Dory is a 4 year starter and varsity letter winner in Softball.  As a Sophomore, she was named Honorable Mention All HCC, and as Junior, she was named 1st Team All HCC and 1st Team All Hamilton County.  Dory was also named the Rocks Defensive Player of the year her junior year.   She is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and was recognized at the Academic Evening of Excellence her Senior year.  At Trine, Dory plans to study Exercise Science and Strength and Conditioning.  Pictured above sitting alongside Dory are her parents, Kelly and Holly Thompson.  Standing is Kelly Thompson-Brother, Lorenzo Walker-Trine Softball Coach, Brian Revercomb-Varsity Softball Coach, and Tavio Henson – Strength Coach.

Elisabeth Fauntleroy signed her letter of intent to play Soccer at Taylor University in Upland, IN.  Elisabeth played soccer 3 years at WHS.  Elisabeth will graduate with Academic Honors and is a member of the Rotary Internet Club.  At Taylor, she plans to major in Nursing.  Congratulations Elisabeth!  Pictured above sitting alongside Elisabeth are her parents, Chrissy and Jimmy Fauntleroy.
