Meet Recap
The Westfield Girls Golf team took home their fourth straight sectional championship on Friday at the Ben Davis Sectional held at South Grove Golf Course. The Lady Rocks had to hold off a strong Carmel team in order for that to happen. The Lady Rocks made the turn with a five shot lead and would see that lead diminish to two shots when the final scores were tallied. The team shot a 293 to Carmel 295.
Leading the Rocks in scoring was Cailyn Henderson who shot a one over par 71. Margaret Wentz had a solid round of her own shooting a two over par 72. Jocelyn Bruch followed with a 73, Adrienne Montalone finished with a 77 and Emma Clary rounded out the top five with an 81.
“It was really fun to watch our players and Carmel slug it out today. I’m not sure you will see three lower scores to come out of any sectional in the state than a 293, 295 and Covenant Christian’s 313,” said Coach Neu. ” I am really proud of what the girls were able to accomplish today winning a fourth sectional in a row is a great feat.”
