Running a limited lineup in anticipation of the HCC meet Thursday, the Westfield Boys Track Team finished 3rd in the Hamilton County meet which was rescheduled from last Friday. The team won 6 events, and had some outstanding performances. The highlight of the meet was easily Charles Miller’s county championship in the 800. His time of 1:54.89 is the fastest in the state so far this year. He followed that up with another win in the 4×400 relay, teaming with Peyton Haack, Dainon Wray and Justin Mamaril to run 3:21.04, also a state best time. The 4×100 relay of Evan Manley, Chris Zolto, Dorian Henson, and Nolan Rodgers was also county champs with a time near their season best. Other individual event winners included Manley in the 200, Aaron Bennett in the 1600, and Nick Leahy in the 3200. Other scorers included Jacob Mears, Max Gutwein, Noah Douthit, and James McClure in the 4×800 relay (5th), Rodgers (4th), and Wray (5th) in the 100, Zolto (8th) in the 200, Justin Homberg (5th) and Drew Neustifter (9th) in the 400, Desmond Herrell (6th) and Mears (7th) in the 800, Samuel Novak (6th) with a huge PR in the 1600, Joe Barnett (10th) in the 3200, Haack (2nd) in the 110 hurdles, Wray (2nd) and Mamaril (3rd) in the 300 hurdles, Mamaril (5th) and Haack (6th) in the pole vault, Rodgers (7th) and Fisher (10th) in the long jump, Colin Caldwell (6th) in the shot put and Byron Hubbard (7th) and Elisha Lennon (8th) in the discus. The Shamrocks are back in action Thursday at Zionsville in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Chamionships.
