Westfield and Fishers squared off in the semi-final round of the IHSAA State Baseball Tournament Monday morning. Fishers struck first in the second inning by scoring three runs on one hit. The Rocks responded an inning later with three runs of their own, all with two outs. Then, in the bottom of the 4th inning, Logan McClurg executed a suicide squeeze play perfectly to put the Rocks up 4-3. McClurg would then enter the game on the mound in the 7th to secure three outs for the Rocks win and his second save of the year. Ryan Pepiot started on three days rest and turned in a gem, allowing just two earned runs on four hits and striking out six in six innings of work to earn his sixth win of the season and propel the Rocks into the Sectional Championship game. Offensively, the Rocks were led by Logan McClurg who went 3 for 4 with and RBI. Matt Meyer was 1 for 3 with double and 2 RBI. Milo Beam was 2 for 4 with a double as well. The win put the Rocks (15-15) in the Sectional Championship against the Carmel Greyhounds at 7:30p on Memorial Day.
