With a troublesome forecast for the three game series, the Rocks traveled to Fishers to open a HCC series with the Tigers a day early. Fishers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, then tacked on another run in the third. The Rocks made it a 3-1 game in the top of the 4th but the Tigers responded with a big 4 run bottom of the 4th that Westfield couldn’t recover from and dropped game one 8-4. Dillon Simpson started for the Rocks and pitched 3.2 innings while striking out one. Kyle Pepiot pitched .1 innings of relief and Max McCool pitched 2 innings of relief allowing just one run to score. Offensively, Harrison Freed led the way, going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a double. Milo Beam tripled and had an RBI while Max McCool added a RBI. The two teams will now play a double-header on Friday at 6p. The Rocks will honor the 2016 seniors in a ceremony prior to the game.
