On October 3rd, The Westfield Girls Cross Country team competed in the Hoosier Crossroads Cross Country Championships in Noblesville. Even in less ideal conditions, Devon Leahy finished 6th overall with a 18:44.59. Lauren Bailey close behind, finishing 10th overall, with a 19:07.4. Gabby Brown and Gabby Dilick raced side by side throughout the race, pushing each other every step. Brown finished 23rd overall with 19:37.43, and Dilick was a step behind in 24th overall and 19:37.74. Elizabeth Cronin, Madison Smith, and Carly Bogdajewicz rounded out the top seven for the Rocks with only twelve seconds separating them. The Rocks earned a 5th place overall finish, eight points behind Fishers.
On the JV side, the team placed 4th overall. The top six finishers for the Rocks all placing in the top thirty for team places. Laura Susnak, a senior, lead the Rocks and finished 19th overall with a 21:27.0. Sara Hamlet and Maggie McAndrews, two freshmen, raced side by side throughout the race and finished 21st and 23rd overall with only four seconds separating the two. Ann Vrooman, a senior, finished in 22:06.51, earning her a 28th team place finish, and Cameron Ferreri one second behind Vrooman. Only 40 seconds separated the top five Rocks of this race.
