Westfield hosted the Zionsville Eagles Tuesday evening at Shamrock Field. Zionsville’s Parker Dunshee dueled Westfield’s Trent Dean in a hard-fought contest. The Rocks scored first in the 3rd inning but left the bases loaded only to have Zionsville answer in the top of the fourth with a big inning, scoring 5 runs. Westfield scored one in the 5th and 6th innings to pull within 2 runs and had the tying run at the plate in the 7th but could not come up with the big hit on the evening. Trent Dean pitched six innings, allowing 5 earned runs and Jake Dietz pitched one scoreless inning of relief. Offensively, the Rocks scattered six hits by six different players on the day. Jake Dietz had the lone RBI. Despite the loss, the Rocks remain in the HCC lead at 8-2 (11-4 overall). Hamilton Heights will travel to Shamrock Field for a 5pm game today.
