Mother Nature has forced the Rocks inside all week, but on Friday night they were finally able to take the field for the first time in 2013 for Game 1 of the annual Shamrock Series. Sophomore Chris Ayers took the mound for the Green team and was magnificent, pitching 5 innings of no-hit baseball and striking out eight to earn the win. The Green team broke the game open in the third inning with five runs and tacked on two more in the fifth en route to a 7-1 victory. Alec Nelson led the way offensively with two doubles and four RBI. The two teams are scheduled to square off again in game two on Thursday at 5pm.
