The Westfield shamrocks JVW team won big over Zionsville 11-5 on Thursday evening. Westfield got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ryker Brenneman lined out, Zionsville committed an error, and Kasen Jessup doubled, each scoring one run. A steal of home by Bryce Swadener extended the Westfield Shamrocks JVW lead to 4-0 in the top of the second inning. Aiden Trevino earned the win for The Shamrocks. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking none. Cam Nelson appeared in relief for The Westfield Shamrocks JVW. He allowed 3 runs on 2 hits and 3 strikeouts. The Shamrocks piled up 10 hits in the game. Jessup and Logan Sumpter were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for The Shamrocks while hitting back-to-back. Brady Bafia was 2 for 3 at the plate. Bafia and Jessup each drove in two runs for Westfield. Logan Robe came up clutch for an RBI double. Swadener led The Shamrocks with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Swadener, Bafia, Brenneman, and Maddox Novotney each stole multiple bases for Westfield. The Shamrocks stole 10 bases in the game. The shamrocks improve their record to 13-1 and take on Pendleton Monday evening.
