Meet Recap

The Westfield boys cross country team finished 4th in the always tough HCC Championship meet at Noblesville’s Chinquapin Ridge Course Saturday, with 37 of the 46 boys who raced running best ever times. The varsity was led by All Conference performances by Nick Leahy and Samuel Novak, while Max Gutwein, Noah Douthit, and Luke Tragesser all scored for the Shamrocks. They also had outstanding races from Tyler Smith, Jon Huntley, Duncan McGraw, Kyler Koning, Mahamat Djour, and Lincoln Strong.

The JV team finished their outstanding season with a 3rd place finish. They were led by Nik Pensyl, Robby Bogdajewicz, Josh Springborn, Emerson Bostic, and Joe Barnett. There were many great races in the JV race, but of special note were Ryan Shannon, Thomas May, and Will Puterbaugh, all seniors, who ran lifetime bests in the last race of their careers. Huge PRs were also run by Tate Wheeler, Hayden Hudnall, Jackson Mroch, Tyler Cook, Ben Harris, Liam Kelly, and Michael Simpson.

The Shamrocks will be back in action next Saturday at the IHSAA Noblesville Sectional, on the same course.
